This series of functional PC substrates delivers uniform light diffusion and light scattering effects. Dafu adopts two parallel technical routes for this product line:
① Surface Microstructure Type (Matte / Velvet / Fine-Matte PC Film)
Controlled diffuse reflection is generated via single-sided or double-sided matte/velvet textures to achieve the following effects:
- Anti-glare: Reduce harsh mirror-like light reflection
- Hiding power: Obscure underlying textures and defects for a cleaner luminous surface
- Light homogenization: Deliver consistent brightness across backlight and panel lamp cavities
Representative grades: Dafu Matte PC Film & Fine Matte PC Film Series
- Thickness: Approx. 0.05–4.0 mm (0.05–0.50 mm is the mainstream film gauge)
- Width: 915–1300 mm (varies by thickness grade)
- Surface options: Polished/matte, double-sided matte, fine velvet finish, etc.
- Main function: Serves as surface scattering layer, light cover or separator, without ultra-high bulk haze opalescence requirements
② Bulk Diffusion Type (Opal / Semi-transparent PC Diffuser Plate, DFP Series)
Opalescent semi-transparent appearance is formed by internal diffuser additives and specialized formulations to strongly scatter transmitted light.
Its core purpose is uniform luminous output rather than clear visibility of rear components, featuring light transmission with opacity.
Marketed under Dafu’s LED PC Diffuser Plate (DFP) product line.
- Thickness: Mostly 1–4 mm (sheet & board range)
- Ideal applications: Light box covers, light-emitting surfaces of panel lights, light-side homogenizing layers near light sources in backlight modules

- Base material: Polycarbonate (PC); flame retardant formulations available (UL94 V-2 to V-0 subject to gauge and formula)
- Thickness segmentation: Film 0.05–0.50 mm | Sheet & board 1–4 mm

- Processing compatibility: Narrow slitting, sheet cutting, die-cutting, thermoforming and cold bending (feasibility evaluated by thickness and formulation)

Typical Applications
- LED panel lights, downlights, linear lights: Light homogenizing covers and internal lamp cavity diffuser layers
- Advertising light boxes: Opal or matte covers for even light output without harsh bright spots
- Display & instrument backlights: Anti-glare surface treatment and consistent brightness control
- Decorative lighting: Soft light layers for light troughs, contour lighting and signage illumination
