PC/PMMA composite sheet
PC/PMMA Composite Board & Sheet is one of the core products of Dafu’s optical and decorative material series.
The polycarbonate (PC) layer and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) layer are tightly bonded together via co-extrusion technology, delivering complementary performance combining the toughness of PC and the hardness & high clarity of PMMA:
- The PC substrate delivers superior impact resistance, excellent bending resistance and wide thermoforming processing window;
- The PMMA top layer features high surface hardness, outstanding scratch resistance, high gloss and high light transmittance (≥90%).
This material boasts ultra-high transparency and print-friendly surfaces. Texture moulds can be applied to achieve flowing light or iridescent glass-like textures.
After hard coat treatment, its drop resistance is significantly improved, and it generates no shielding effect on antenna signals, making it a mainstream glass replacement solution for 3C decorative components.
Dafu supplies two mainstream composite structures:
① 2-layer PC/PMMA composite sheet: optimized for balanced cost and thermoforming efficiency;
② 3-layer PMMA/PC/PMMA composite sheet: featuring better optical symmetry, weather resistance and stress performance, ideal for decorative panels and window components with stringent requirements on surface hardness, optical performance and forming yield.
Custom multi-color multi-layer PC/PMMA composite sheets are also available, integrating coloration into the substrate structure to reduce post-printing processes.
Typical Specifications
- Thickness: 0.125–3.0 mm. Custom gauges available upon request: 0.175 / 0.25 / 0.3 / 0.5 / 0.65 / 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0 mm, etc.
- Width: maximum 1300 mm; standard usable width ranges from 950 mm to 1320 mm depending on sheet thickness and structure.
- Grades: standard non-impact-resistant grade, high impact-resistant grade, hard-coated grade
- Surface finish: standard double-sided polished; textured, leather grain or matte finishes available per processing requirements
- Delivery form: rolls or cut-to-size sheets, customized according to customer dimensions, winding methods and packaging standards
