Ultra-thin acrylic film

Ultra-thin acrylic film Ultra-thin acrylic film

Ultra-thin Optical Grade PMMA Film (Ultra-thin Acrylic Film / DF-PMMA)

This ultra-thin optical film is produced via precision extrusion casting with high-quality polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA, commonly known as acrylic). Its core advantage integrates three key optical and environmental merits of PMMA — high light transmittance, low moisture vapor transmission, and superior weather & UV resistance — into ultra-thin gauges starting from merely 8 μm.

This enables its adoption in optical display stacks and outdoor reflective signage systems, breaking the traditional limitation of PMMA only being used as thick window sheets.

Core Performance Advantages

  • High clarity and uniform light transmittance: Meets the requirements of optical stacks for minimal light interference and iridescence.
  • Low moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR): Reduces water vapor ingress into polarizer PVA layers and extends the service life of optical components.
  • Excellent weather resistance and UV stability: Suitable for long-term outdoor exposure applications such as road signs, vehicle markings and safety labels.
  • Versatile processability: Compatible with printing, lamination, narrow-width slitting and tinting to match downstream coating and bonding procedures.

Standard Specifications (Official Factory Data)

  • Material: Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA / Acrylic)
  • Thickness: 8–250 μm (0.008–0.25 mm)
  • Maximum Width: 1020 mm
  • Surface Finish: Double-sided polished (Polished/Polished)
  • Form: Rolls packed on plastic pallets; narrow slitting and custom roll lengths available per order
  • Minimum Order Quantity: 1 ton

Typical Applications

  1. Polarizer accessories: Protective films for PVA layers. Low-MVTR and high-transmittance optical films supplied in various widths, thicknesses and surface options.
  2. Reflective signage: PMMA reflective films for road signs, marker boards, safety labels and automotive markings. Balances premium optical performance, scratch resistance, print & paste workability, and long-term outdoor weather durability.
  3. Other display and optical assemblies requiring ultra-thin, transparent and weather-resistant film substrates.
